Internships

Science Internship Program (SIP)

The Science Internship Program fosters an environment of formal research mentorship for students interested in STEM related fields. Through the program’s strong commitment to mentorship (not just work experience), SIP provides students with a front row seat for witnessing scientific research passion “in action” as it unfolds, in and through the activity of a research team. Participating in the ongoing traverse along the circuit from basic questions to project design, data collection, and analysis, the passion for research becomes something shared. The program is conducted under the University of California Santa Cruz.

Microsoft High School Internship

In Microsoft’s high school internship program, students will learn a lot about the world of computer science and programming. Microsoft internships are geared toward STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) students, so if you were thinking of pursuing a degree in one of those fields, Microsoft is the place for you.

Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI)

High school students often wonder if they can get involved in a summer internship at Google. While Google only offers internship positions in various fields like business, engineering, and technology to undergraduate and graduate students, CSSI has a summer program at Google open to high school seniors entering a four-year undergraduate program. Students must be intending to major in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related area department. While at the program, students will have the opportunity to learn more about computer science and interact with Google professionals.

Asian Art Museum's Art Speak Internship

Students participating in the Asian Art Museum’s Art Speak internship reap a multitude of benefits. Art Speak interns will discover the art and cultural traditions of Asia, connect with like-minded peers, and gain exposure to the Bay Area art scene by participating in workshops and meeting local artists. The Art Speak internship is open to artistic Bay Area public school students in grades 10-12. Interns receive a monthly stipend over the course of the nine-month program, school credit, and a free year-long membership to the museum. Additionally, the Art Speak internship provides an excellent opportunity to build your portfolio and bolster your extracurricular profile.

NASA High School Internship

NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center offers internships to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors at least 16 years of age to participate in either research or other experiential learning under the guidance of a mentor at a NASA installation. The internships take place across four campuses in Maryland, Virginia, New York, and West Virginia. NASA’s internships are designed to engage students interested in STEM-related fields.
